Apr 18 (UNB) – A violent storm lashed Chitalmari thana of the
district leaving a man dead and 25 people injured on Saturday.
Gurguri
Biswas, 50, of Char Bashabaria was critically injured in a wall
collapse and died on way to Tungipara Hospital in Gopalganj, according
to a delayed report.
Villagers
said 500 mud-houses, two schools and two temples in six villages of
the thana were razed to the ground during the storm that also toppled
a large number of trees.
One
of the injured, Dipanker Mondal, was sent to Khulna Medical College
Hospital while seven others to Chitalmari Thana Health Complex with
critical wounds.
