Bagerhat,
May 1 (UNB) – Local Poura Chairman Atahar Hossain Abu and three
others have been sued by the Bureau of Anti-Corruption for defalcating
about Tk 1.5 lakh from the municipal fund.
The
other accused are administrative officer of the municipality Habibur
Rahman, secretary Monwar Hossain Sikder and contractor Syed Kamrul
Islam.
Anwarul
Islam, a sub-inspector of Bagerhat Anti-Corruption Bureau, filed the
case on Sunday.
The
accused reportedly misappropriated Tk 149,751 drawing Tk 989,000 as
the construction cost of Bagerhat Municipal Super Market against the
actual expenditure of Tk 839,249.
