May 7 (UNB) – The chairman of Bagerhat Pourasava has been sued for
pocketing government funds.
Assistant
Inspector of Anti-corruption Bureau Anwarul Islam filed the case
against chairman Atahar Hossain Abu alias Bara Mia on May 4 for
misappropriating Tk 3.2 lakh by leasing out a number of water bodies,
ghats, hats and bazars.
Earlier
on April 30, the Bureau filed another case against the chairman and
pourasava secretary, administrative
officer and a contractor for drawing Tk 1.5 lakh against construction
work of a pourasava Super Market without depositing any cheque.
