Apr 30 (UNB) – In an early morning raid, Navy men seized costly
timbers from a sawmill, reportedly owned by a ruling party leader, at
Koralia Bazar in Patharghata thana on Thursday.
Locals
said the Navy personnel raided the sawmill early in the morning and
recovered 237 pieces of timbers, including that of Dhundal and Sundari,
worth of Tk 1.5 lakh.
They
alleged that police were reluctant to take action against the sawmill
owner, as he is a ruling party leader.
