Chandpur,
Nov 16 (UNB) – Diarrhea that broke out in an epidemic form in the
district claimed five lives in Faridganj upazila in one week.
Of
the victims, Shilpi, 12, and Faruque, 22, of Badiuzzamanpur village
died of diarrhoea on Saturday while Ruma, 7, of Badarpur village the
following day.
Earlier
on Nov 7, the waterborne disease claimed two lives -- Shirin, 8, of
Kawnia village and Fajarer Nesa, 80, at West Rupsha village.
Meanwhile,
49 diarrhoea patients were have been admitted to Matlab ICDDR,B
cholera hospital.
A
medical team, led by Civil Surgeon Dr Syeda Badrun Nahar Chowdhury,
visited the affected areas.
