May 17 (UNB) – Local Power Development Board (PDB) are facing a lot
of trouble, as huge amount of arrears to its subscribers remained
unrealized for long.
A
PDB official said although steps have been taken to realize the
outstanding arrears from the private subscribers even by disconnecting
the power lines, but they failed to take any action against the
government and semi government offices.
A
total of Tk 3.14 crore remained outstanding with the subscribers of
which the local municipality is on the top of the defaulter list. The
amount of the municipality stood at Tk
29 lakh, he said adding PDB has nearly 14,000 subscribers in the
district.
He
also said over Tk 1 core with the common subscribers and Tk 47 lakh
with the business establishments have been lying outstanding.
