Chittagong,
May 17 (UNB) – Three young men were beaten to death and 3 others
died in separate incidents in the city today.
Police
said a group of young men in two auto-rickshaws came to Halishahar at
1 am for committing dacoit. The residents in a hot chase caught five
of them. They were given a mass beating. As a result one died on the
spot and two others succumbed in the morning after taken to hospital.
Their identity was not known.
Abbas
Ahmed (33), a prisoner in the district jail, died of cardiac arrest at
the CMCH at 3 am. He was arrested from Sitakunda last year. Shifted to
the hospital he died at midnight.
Joynal
Abedin (40) died and his uncle was injured in a landslide at Lalkhan
Bazar in Kotwali thana at 2 am.
In
another incident Khayer (35) was killed and 4 others were injured when
a tempo skidded off the road at Jamalkhan near Khastagir Girls High
School at 9 am. The injured were admitted to the CMCH.
