Apr 23 (UNB) – Farmers of the district seem on course to harvest a
bountiful Boro paddy this season on the back of a fair weather.
Agriculture
officials said some 1.9 lakh hectares of land have been brought under
Boro cultivation in 12 thanas of the district this year against the
target of 1.5 lakh.
In
an attempt to make the programme a success, Agriculture Extension
Department has made arrangement for displaying croplands at block
level and training for the farmers.
Meanwhile,
the farmers have been provided with adequate pesticides and
fertilizers.
A
senior agriculture official said granular urea was being used on
croplands to boost production.
