Comilla,
Aug 24 (UNB) - As part of the countrywide government programme, 393
jobless freedom fighters in the greater Comilla were imparted training
on nursery.
Officials
said the government has undertaken the programme to rehabilitate
10,000 jobless freedom fighters of the country by setting up
nurseries.
Under
the programme, 393 freedom fighters from 26 upazilas of the Comilla,
Brahmanbaria and Chandpur districts were imparted basic training.
After
the training, each trainee was provided with Tk 200 in addition to a
certificate, an umbrella, one T-shirt and various booklets on nursery.
Besides,
each freedom fighter was given Tk 1,000 and nursery materials worth
about Tk 3,000 for growing 2000 saplings.
Of
the trainees, 193 were from Comilla, 102 from Brahmanbaria and 98 from
Chandpur.
