Bazar, May 22 (UNB)- Two young boys were shot dead mistaking them as
robbers at coastal Dhemushia in Chakraria upazila on Sunday midnight.
Police
and villagers said Hasan Ali, 13 and Shamsul Alam, 14 of Rajghat in
Moheskhali upazila used to maintain their poor families by ferrying
people in an engine propelled small boat in Moheskhali channel.
On
the fateful night the engine of their boat went out of order in mid
channel. The current in the channel carried the boat close to a shrimp
enclosure in the coastal area of Dhemushia. The guards at the
enclosure suspecting that robbers invaded the shrimp enclosure opened
fire that killed Hasan on the spot. Injured by bullet Shamsu was
rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died soon after
admission.
A
case was filed with the police.
