          Dhaka,
          May 20 (UNB)- A tiger puppy escaped from the clutches of a group of
          greedy people in the capital. 
           
          
          
           
          Police
          recovered the three-and-a-half-month-old puppy from a residence in the
          capital’s Elephant Road area. 
           
          
           
          According
          to the persons arrested for illegally confining the tiger baby, the
          kid along with his brother were trapped somewhere in deep jungles of
          Assam in India and smuggled into Bangladesh through Benapole border
          only recently. 
           
          
           
          The
          other calf died day before yesterday (Wednesday) and was thrown into a
          city dustbin, said Detective Branch Inspector ABM Sultan Ahmed quoting
          an arrested person. 
           
          
           
          Police
          said the tiger puppies were brought for selling to a circus party in
          Bangladesh. The accused told police that the circus people quoted the
          price only at Tk 50,000 each. They were expecting Tk 150,000 each. As
          the sale process delayed, one of the infant tigers died for lack of
          care. 
           
          
           
          The
          arrested persons are Abdul Kader, 40, Md Ansar Ali, 30, and Zakir
          Hossain, 27. They were sued under Wildlife Protection Act. 
           
          
           
          Police
          said Ansar Ali brought the tiger babies to the capital and kept at
          Abdul Kader’s home at Elephant Road. 
           
          
           
          The
          rescued tiger puppy was kept at the Dhaka Zoo.
