          Dhaka,
          July 18 (UNB) – A total of 154 people were murdered in country’s
          10 southwestern districts in last six months till June 30, showing a
          horrific picture of law and order situation.
          
           
           
          
           
          During
          the period, some 878 incidents of unnatural deaths took place while 97
          women and girls fell victim to rapists. Of them, eight were killed
          after rape.   
          
           
           
          
           
          Of
          the murders, 25 were reported in January while 16 in February, 32 in
          March, 21 in April, 32 in May and 28 in June.
          
           
           
          
           
          District-wise
          breakup of the killings: Jessore-39, Meherpur-6, Khulna-25,
          Bagerhat-12, Satkhira-15, Narail-12, Jhenidah-16, Magura-7, Chuadanga
          11 and Kushtia-11. 
          
           
           
          
           
          Meanwhile,
          other serious crimes like robbery, toll collection and violence have
          also marked an alarming rise in the districts.
