July 2 (UNB) – State Minister for Jute AK Faezul Huq today (Sunday)
inaugurated a ferry service in the river Sandhya on
Swarupkati-Inderhat road in Pirojpur district.
With
the commissioning of the ferry, movement of vehicles and passengers
between Barisal and Pirojpur has become much easier, the minister said
while inaugurating the service.
“Smooth
communication system is a pre-requisite to proper development of the
country. That’s why the government has introduced the ferry service
here,” he told the function.
District
Awami League leader Shahidullah and additional chief engineer of Roads
and Highways Department were present on the occasion, said an official
handout today.
