Apr 13 (UNB) - In a sign of encouragement, district administration has
realized Tk 18.45 lakh from some brickfield owners as fine for burning
logs.
Official
sources said the fine was realized through mobile courts this season
under Brick Burning (Control) Act 1989 and Brick Burning (Control)
(Amendment) Ordinance 1992.
Some
32,000 maunds of logs were also sized during the period, they said.
