Faridpur,
May 9 (UNB) – Three policemen were suspended and closed to the
district police lines on Monday for setting an accused free from court
during a hearing on bail.
The
action was taken against ASI Hasmat Ali, havildar Mosarraf Hossain and
constable Ajit Kumar Dutta on charge of releasing Atiqur Rahman Litu,
an accused of two cases.
DB
police Sunday arrested Litu on charge of snatching and extortion and
produced him before judge court on Monday. The court bailed him in one
of the two cases.
The
three policemen, however, set him free instantly despite not having
bail in another case. Then Police Super took action against the three
cops for negligence to their duties.
Litu
was arrested again by police within 10 hours of the incident.
