          Faridpur,
          May 24 (UNB) – The visiting Swedish Minister for Development
          Cooperation, Migration and Asylum Policy, Ms Maj-Inger Klingvall,
          inaugurated the 95-meter-long bridge on Shibchar-Chanderchar-Gopalpur
          feeder road in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district today
          (Wednesday). 
           
          
           
          The
          LGED is implementing project at a cost of Tk 7.3 million funded by
          Swedish International Development Agency, SIDA. 
           
          
           
          Opening
          the new bridge, Maj-Inger Klingvall hoped that it would enhance
          communication facilities between different parts of the country. 
           
          
           
          She
          said the bondage and deep friendship between the two countries would
          develop further in the days to come. 
           
          
           
          Swedish
          Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ander Johnson, and other senior officials of
          her ministry and embassy accompanied the minister. 
           
          
           
          The
          Minister reached here today on a two-day field visit to see the
          Swedish funded projects. 
           
          
           
          Later,
          the minister visited some Swedish funded development activities in
          Madaripur and Faridpur districts. 
           
          
           
          SIDA,
          under its rural infrastructure and development program, has provided
          Tk 600 crore for five districts of greater Faridpur. 
           
          
           
          Out
          of the total, Tk 560 crore was given as grant while Tk 40 crore as
          loan.
