Apr 12 (UNB) – Local people have threatened to put up barricade on
Dhaka-Sylhet road and railway line here if the Shahjalal Science and
Technology University is not reopened immediately.
The
threat came at a rally organized by the students on Saturday. The
university remained closed for more than 5 months due to disturbances
over the controversy arose from naming some buildings and residential
halls after Bangabandhu and Jahanara Imam.
Over
1000 students also created a human chain to highlight their demand.
They submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding early
reopening of the University.
