Jessore,
June 28 (UNB)- A court here on Sunday convicted two people and
sentenced them to life term imprisonment on charge of kidnapping a
minor girl.
The
court also fined them Tk 1,000 each, in default, to suffer one year RI
more.
According
to the prosecution, in brief, Abdul Malek, son of Abdur Rahim of
Keshabpur upazila and Momena Begum wife of Babar Ali of Jhikorgachha
upazila kidnapped a minor girl from Deuli village of Keshabpur upazila
on August 2, 1994.
Police
arrested them from the central bus terminal of the town on their way
to India.
The
Judge of Woman and Child Repression Prevention Court ATM Golam Kibria
after examining the records and witnesses awarded the punishment.
