Apr 22 (UNB) - A massive programme has taken up for cultivation of
summer crops on 29,000 hectares of land in the district in current
kharif season.
Under
the programme, some 15,000 hectares of lands will be brought under Aus
and Aman paddy while the rest under vegetable, banana, papaya and
sesame cultivation.
In
an attempt to make the programme a success, Agriculture Extension
Department is providing fertiliser, pesticide and high yielding
variety of seeds while Krishi Bank necessary loans among the farmers.
