Apr 30 (UNB) – A police havilder was closed to the district police
lines on Saturday from Nalchhiti thana on charge of torturing a young
man as he refused to marry a girl of his village.
Sources
said havilder Mozammel Hossain called Quamruzzaman Babu, 18, in his
thana office and tortured him as he refused to marry the 16-year-old
girl, Fatema Akhter Laizu, despite having an affair with her.
The
higher authorities took action against the policeman upon complaint
lodged by Babu, son of Abdul Rob Mollik of Surjapasha village.
