June 24 (UNB) – Dacoits looted Tk 2.5 lakh from a rice trading shop
at the fish market in the town wounding two people on Thursday.
The
injured were identified as Jasim, owner of the shop and one Bangshilal.
Witnesses
said an armed bandit group swooped on the shop at about 8pm and looted
the cash at gunpoint.
During
their departure the gang fired a number of gunshots and exploded bombs
injuring Jasim. They robbers also stabbed Bangshilal who was gossiping
with the trader.
Another
reports adds: A housewife allegedly committed suicide by taking
pesticide at Habindia village in Kotchandpur upazila Tuesday.
The
deceased was identified as Bashanti Rani (18), wife of Amit Kumar.
Family
sources said unable to bear the shock of her husband’s premature
death, Bashanti Rani committed suicide.
