May 8 (UNB) – Armed muggers swooped on a man and snatched Tk 1.2
lakh from him leaving him injured with bullets at Mastanpara in the
town Saturday night.
Police
said the terrorists attacked Jewel, 21, nephew of BNP leader Fazlur
Rahman, while he was going to his uncle’s house with the money at
about 9pm.
The
hijackers fired shots at him twice and snatched the money. They also
blasted a homemade bomb when he cried out for help, leaving a
pedestrian, Lokman Ali, 62, injured.
Both
the injured were admitted to Modern Hospital and the condition of
Jewel was stated to be critical.
A
case was filed.
