Joypurhat,
June 28 (UNB) – Bumper production of IRRI-boro has been achieved in
the district during the current season.
Local
Agriculture Extension Department sources said farmers brought 63,450
hectares of land under IRRI-boro farming setting the production target
at over 2.63 lakh metric tons in five upazilas.
But
much to their expectation a total of over 3.23 lakh metric tons of
paddy have been produced exceeding the production target, the sources
said.
An
AED official also said the bumper production of paddy has been
achieved owing to favorable weather condition.
