Joypurhat,
July 9 (UNB) – Bangladesh Rifles seized huge quantum of smuggled
Indian goods and arrested 55 people from different border areas of the
district during the last six months till June.
During
the period, members of five rifles battalion conducted 1,384 drives
and recovered the goods worth of Tk 3.04 crore.
The
seized goods including sugar, Salt, spices, saree, clothes, bicycles,
phensidyl and wine, cosmetics, imitation ornaments, toys, medicines,
perfumes and spare parts of shallow machines were handed over to the
Bangla Hili customs officials.
