May 6 (UNB) - Police on Wednesday arrested one Helaluddin of Dhuljhuri
village in the district’s Hossainpur thana on charge of torturing
his wife for dowry.
Police
said Helal and other members of his family used to torture his wife
Kalpana Khatun, mother of three children, asking her to bring money
from her parents as dowry.
Helaluddin
was arrested after Kalpana Khatun filed a case against four people,
including her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law, with
Hossainpur thana on April 11.
