          Kishoreganj,
          July 8 (UNB) – Ruling party general secretary and Local Government
          Minister Zillur Rahman said Awami League would again get the chance of
          governing the country with people’s mandate. 
           
          
           
          He
          expressed the hope for their reelection to power while addressing a
          reception accorded to him at Kuliarchar here today (Saturday). 
           
          
           
          “BNP
          is out to intercept Zila Parishad and Upazila Parishad elections
          undemocratically as it doesn’t believe in local-government system
          introduced for people’s welfare,” the minister said. 
           
          
           
          During
          their regime, they had dissolved all the local-government bodies,
          including Upazila Parishad, Zillur observed. “Even they are not
          sincere in protecting women’s reserved seats in Parliament.” 
           
          
           
          The
          Awami League leader alleged the four-party alliance under the
          leadership of BNP came to the street to implement their blueprint of
          creating public disorder, disrupting development and destroying
          democracy. 
           
          
           
          Addressing
          the function Commerce Minister Abdul Jalil said: “While democracy
          got firm footing and economic activities expanded, BNP joined the
          autocrat and rajakars to create political unrest in the country.” 
           
          
           
          Presided
          over by Upazila AL president M Jahangir Hossain, the function was also
          addressed, among others, by Deputy Speaker Adv Abdul Hamid and State
          Minister for Public Works and Civil Aviation Syed Ashraful Islam.
