Aug 3 (UNB) – Farmers in 11 upazilas of the district are giving a
bright outlook for Aus production this year due to fair weather.
According
to local agriculture office, harvesting of local variety of Aus paddy
begins next week amid an upbeat mood of the farmers.
Officials
said Aus paddy was cultivated on 28,500 hectares of land against the
target of 27,190 hectares. Of the total, Ufsi variety was cultivated
on 13,500 hectares while local variety on 15,000 hectares.
