          Khustia,
Apr 30 (UNB) – At least 20 people were injured as a nor’wester
coupled with downpour swept six thanas of the district Saturday
          evening.

          The
storm, packing a speed of over 100 kph, also damaged a large number of
thatched and semi-pucca houses, and Boro paddy and jute on vast tracts
          of land.

          During
its 30-minute fury, the storm toppled electric poles in many places
cutting off power supply in the district. Traffic in various parts of
the town was disrupted as many uprooted trees blocked the roads.

          With
Saturday’s one, nor’wester lashed the district for the fourth time
in last one week rendering many people homeless and causing colossal
          damage to standing crops.
