Magura,
May 22 (UNB) – Three bridges over rivers Fatki and Chitra in
Shalikha thana were constructed at a cost of Tk 3.47 crore.
Local
Government and Engineering Department under its Rural Communication
Development Programmeconstructed the bridges.
Official
said two bridges over Fatki -– one at Kuchiamora and another at
Bunagati -– were constructed spending Tk 1.47 crore and Tk one crore
respectively, while the bridge over Chitra at Sangda Laxmipur at a
cost of Tk one crore.
Another
report adds: the government disbursed Tk 9.81 lakh among 3,240 widows
or abandoned women as allowance in last three years.
Social
Welfare Department distributed the money to 1,170 widows in Sadar
Upazila, 720 each in Mohammadpur and Sripur uapazilas and 630 in
Shalikha upazila during the period.
