Apr 23 (UNB) – A devastating fire at Palra Bazar in Sadar thana
gutted property worth of Tk 15 lakh on Wednesday.
Witnesses
said the blaze originated from a laundry at 11.30pm and soon raged
through the adjacent area, burning down seven shops.
On
information, firefighters went to the spot and put out the flame after
three hours of hectic efforts.
Local
people alleged that the extent of damage would not have been so
enormous had the firefighters reached the spot in time.
