Manikganj,
May 20 (UNB) – A bumper production of IRRI-Boro is expected in seven
upazilas of the district in the current season.
Sources
said farmers of the district this year cultivated IRRI-Boro on 99,100
acres of land as against the target of 92,650 acres.
Farmers,
however, allege that high price of diesel, frequent power failure and
load shedding are hampering irrigation in IRRI-Boro cultivation.
Harvesting
of paddy has already begun in many places.
