July 30 (UNB) – Being failed to repay the loan of an NGO, a
housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at village
Manta in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
Villagers
said Batasi (32), wife of day laborer Khalil, took loan from local
BRAC office. But, she despite pressure from the organization could not
repay her weekly installment due to poverty.
It
was alleged that the concerned officer rebuked her seriously for
non-payment of the installment.
