Aug 9 (UNB) – In a bid to check the outbreak of the dreaded dengue
fever, a cleanliness drive began here for the eradicating aedes
mosquito, carrier of dengue virus.
As
part of a weeklong drive launched by local Red Crescent Society,
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nurul Haque inaugurated the drive from
the Super Market area of the town on Friday.
A
rally was also brought out to create awareness about the disease among
the people. Posters are also displayed at public places and publicity
by loudspeakers is going on in different parts of the district.
The
district pourashava has also undertaken a cleanliness drive in its
different wards for eradicating the aedes mosquitoes.
Two
people attacked by the dengue virus are being treated at the local
hospital.
