Apr 11 (UNB) – Rain with hailstorm on Monday caused substantial
damage to Boro crop and mango in Sadar thana of the district.
There
was a prospect of bumper Boro harvest this season, but it might not be
achieved following the 15-minute incessant rain, farmers said.
The
hailstorm at this time, they feared, might create an undesirable
impact on the production of Boro and Paijam variety of paddy in many
parts of the Sadar thana.
