May 24 (UNB) – The concluding ceremony of the national-level
festival marking the birth centenary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul
Islam begins at Darirampur village in Trishal upazila tomorrow
(Thursday).
A
three-day programme has been chalked out to mark the closing ceremony
of the yearlong festival that began last year on this day.
The
programmes include rallies, fair, discussions and cultural functions.
On
the first day, a rally will be held at 9am. District Administration
will organise another rally from Town Hall premises at 10am.
Later,
at a function, Food Minister Amir Hossain Amu will inaugurate the
festival at 3pm.
Renowned
Nazrul song singers, including Firoza Begum, Sohrab Hossain and
Fatematuz Zohra, will render Nazrul Sangeet on the occasion.
On
the second day, a discussion on the life of poet Nazrul will be held.
State Minister for Information Prof Abu Sayeed will inaugurate it.
Industries
Minister Tofail Ahmed will attend the concluding day’s function.
Cultural
function will be held in the evening each day of the three-day
programmes.
