Naogaon,
May 5 (UNB) – Standing boro paddy on 50,000 hectares of land in the
district went under water following incessant rain for the last few
days.
Officials
said low-lying areas of Raninagar, Atrai, Mohadevpur and Porsha
upzilas, including Dighli, Beelbhobani and Guta beel in Sadar upzila,
were inundated by the rainwater.
As
rain continues to fall, poor farmers started gathering half-ripe paddy
from under water with country boats.
