Apr 11 (UNB) – A nayek of the police was injured by muggers in the
Court mosque area of the town on Monday.
Police
said mess manager of the local police lines, Rafiqul Islam, was
waylaid by two snatchers in the morning as soon as he stepped down
from a rickshaw on his way to Digubabu Bazar for marketing.
The
miscreants struck the police nayek thrice on his head with a knife as
he refused to pay them any money and left the spot.
The
injured nayek was admitted to the 200-bed hospital in the town.
A
case has been filed in this connection in Sadar thana.
