Apr 23 (UNB) – Eleven shops were gutted in a fire at Sreerampur in
Raipura thana on Saturday night.
Fire
Brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric
short-circuit at a sweetmeat shop and engulfed nearby 10 other shops
gutting valuables worth of Tk 20 lakh.
Of
the shops, five were sweetmeat shops, two grocery shops and three
hotels and one vegetable shop.
Firemen
from Bhairab and Polash thana brought the fire under control after
one-and-a-half hour effort at 1:30 am.
At
least 10 people received minor injuries while trying to save their
property.
