July 5 (UNB)- A disabled freedom fighter of Shibpur upazila of the
district has been rehabilitated by a noted singer of the country.
Sick
and disabled freedom fighter Abdul Baten Bhuiyan of Kharakmara village
has been suffering from paralysis for the last ten years and passing
hard days in a dilapidated mud house.
Hearing
his misery singer Hasina Mamataz came forward to help Baten and
constructed a small building at his homestead with the money she
earned by singing. Later at a simple ceremony the key of the house was
handed over to the freedom fighter on June 15.
Managing
Director of National Bank and husband of Hasina Mamtaz Rafiqul Islam
spoke on the occasion and handed over a token amount of cash to him.
