Natore, Jan 3 (UNB)- Most of the government staff quarters here have been lying abandoned since long causing a huge loss to the government and serious damages to the buildings in absence of proper maintenance.
Official sources said the government employees prefer to reside at private buildings, as the house rent is lower than the government charges.
A local schoolteacher said taking the advantage some notorious terrorists made the quarters as the safe hub of their anti-social activities. Some quarters also went under illegal occupation.
The conditions of Barogacha and Kandibhetua quarters, gazetted officers’ quarters at Rani Bhabani Palace area, PDB quarters in Alaipur, Railway staff quarters and government high school teachers quarters are worst.
