June 9 (UNB) – Arrear electricity bills of PDB here now stands at Tk
2.59 crore, according to competent sources.
Of
the total, PDB owed Tk 33 lakh to Environment Ministry while Tk 27.73
lakh to Local Government, Tk 22.32 lakh to Law and Justice, Tk 1.70
lakh each to Education and Communication, Tk 2.28 lakh to
Establishment, Tk 2.40 lakh to Finance, Tk 91,000 to Food, Tk 32,000
to Health, Tk 88,000 to Information, Tk 32,000 to Jute, Tk 1.72 lakh
to Social Welfare and Tk 9.30 lakh to Religious Affairs ministries.
Besides,
a total of Tk 66,000 remain unpaid by other ministries while Tk 1.12
lakh by T&T Board and Tk 1.72 lakh by Public Works Department, the
sources said.
