July 5 (UNB) – Two children died today from among those who fell
sick of food poisoning during a religious festival in Jaldhaka upazila.
Mithu,
7, and Sumitra Rani, 12, were the first victims of the tragic incident
that occurred following taking prasad on the occasion of Mohadev puja
on Tuesday.
Civil
surgeon office sources said two medical teams were sent to the
affected villages where at least 200 people sickened.
Some
60 remained under treatment at the upazila health complex and
condition of 14 of them was stated “critical”.
