Noakhali,
July 26 (UNB)- The local fishermen after three hours of hot chase
caught five pirates from the area of Char Kering in Sadar upazila last
week while they were preparing to commit piracy.
Police
said annoyed with the recurring piracies in the Meghna river over 100
fishermen taking life risk encircled the pirates in the river and
caught five of them on July 17. They
later handed them over to police after a mass beating.
The
arrested pirates were identified as Khairul Bashar, 24, Shahabuddin,
25, Monir Uddin, 26, Ashraf Uddin, 26, and Haroon 24.
A
case was filed with the police.
