Apr 15 (UNB)- Law and order situation of the district has deteriorated
during last 30 days till April 12 creating panic among the
peace-loving people.
At
least nine people were killed in various thanas during the period. Of
them, three people were slaughtered, two were beaten to death, one was
hacked to death and the rest was strangulated to death.
Six
of the victims were identified Sadaruddin (50) of Balarampur village,
Jubo League leader Rashedul Alam Deben, Idris Ali (38), a small trader
of Balughata village, Abdur Razzak (32) and Dulal (31) of Sonapur
village and Siddique (12) of Bhabanipur village in Sadar thana.
The
people in this region have lost confidence in the police as they could
not arrest any of those responsible for the killings.
Apart
from the murders, various crimes including four robberies and eight
clashes were committed in the district during the period.
