          Panchagarh,
Aug 1 (UNB) – Shoppers in northern districts are being cheated as
most packaged goods in local markets have no price tags.

          As
per the existing rule, manufacturing companies is bound to mention the
prices of its goods approved by BSTI before marketing.

          But
the goods approved by BSTI come to the market with labels inscribing
only ‘Maximum retail price … and the space of price goes blank.

          Taking
advantage of it, shopkeepers charge higher prices from shoppers and
they also deprive the shoppers of the prizes offered by companies for
          purchasing their goods.

          There
have been allegations that the authorities concerned hardly take
          action against such offenders.
