Pirojpur,
May 23 (UNB) – Construction works on a 2-km coastal embankment,
taken up under ADP, at Mathbarai upazila are progressing fairly well.
Water
Development Board has undertaken the project, involving Tk 1 crore and
600 mts of wheat.
Upon
completion of the project, some 12,000 hectares of cropland would be
protected from recurring floods.
Meanwhile,
60 percent works of the project have been completed while the rest is
likely to be completed by June next.
Under
another project, WDB will install three sluice gates in the area by
the current fiscal, officials said.
