A septuagenarian and his nephew get 30 years for murder |

Rajbari, Apr 30 (UNB) – A district court today sentenced a septuagenarian and his nephew to 30 years’ rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 5000 each, in default to suffer one year more RI, for killing a villager.
District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Shahidullah handed down the verdict to 72-year old Asmat Ali Mondol and his nephew Hamidul Mandol and acquitted 5 others accused in the murder case.
According to the case, a group of 12 people led by Asmat Ali and Hamidul attacked the house of Mohammad Inuddin in village Jamalpur of Pangsha upazila and hacked him to death on the spot on June 15, 1998.
Inuddin’s brother Shahar Ali filed a case against seven people. |
