12 (UNB) – As the by-poll in Rajshahi-5 constituency scheduled for
April 22, carrying of all kinds of firearms, including the licensed
ones, has been banned in the area for the day.
According
to a handout released by Home Ministry today, action will be taken
under subsection (2) of Section 17A of the Arms Act against the
violator of the ban, which will remain in force from April 20 midnight
to April 23 midnight (11:59pm).
However,
it will not be applicable for the members of law enforcement agents
and security guards to be appointed by the various government,
semi-government and non-government offices and organizations.
