May 15 (UNB) – Price of sugar continues to rise in the district due
to illegal hoarding by a section of dishonest traders.
Local
sugar now sells at Tk 34 per kg against its previous price of Tk 32
while Indian sugar costs Tk 30 per kg against Tk 26 a few days back.
Sugar
dealers said the price of local sugar might go up to Tk 40 as there is
a chance of short supply of Indian sugar.
