          Rangamati,
          Nov 13 (UNB) – A two-day workshop on `Increasing the skill of
          Headmen and their duty and empowerment’ concluded here on Wednesday. 
           
          
           
          A
          number of recommendations were adopted in the workshop on maintenance
          of law and order, land and natural resources management, collection of
          revenue, judicial system and skill development of the headmen. 
           
          
           
          The
          recommendations include cancellation of land settlement given without
          the permission of the headmen, resettling the disputed land after
          proper investigation, rearranging the survey of land record by the
          government and to provide the land record to the headmen, seeking the
          opinion of concerned headmen before giving lease or auction of any
          water body of Kaptai and providing logistic suport to the headmen. 
           
          
           
          More
          than 50 headmen took part in the workshop, jointly organized by local
          NGO “Tonga” and District Headman Welfare Association with the
          financial support from Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). 
           
          
           
          Among
          others, Chakma Raja Debashish Roy, President of the association Binoy
